Where do I even start? My weight loss journey has been an ongoing battle for me throughout my life. I have always been overweight, since I was a child. I was bingeing before I even knew what that was. By the time I was 13, I was almost 230 lbs. That was my first wake up call to lose weight, and in 2 years I lost 80 lbs through a very restrictive diet/borderline eating disorder to sit at my lowest weight of 150 lbs. As a teenager I still felt very insecure in my body and struggled with body dysmorphia.
Fast forward to being pregnant with my first daughter after already having gained back all the weight I had lost as a teenager. Throughout my pregnancy I ate whatever I wanted, and I thought that the weight would magically disappear after giving birth. Wrong. I was 266 lbs 4 months postpartum, and I continued to gain another 30 lbs. By the time we wanted to get pregnant again, I was diagnosed with PCOS and suffered secondary infertility. I was depressed and felt helpless.
After 5 years of trying, I was finally able to get pregnant and gave birth to my second baby girl. The day I gave birth, I weighed in at 320 lbs and I vowed to myself never to see that weight again. I was on a fitness journey and to our surprise we got pregnant again! This time it would not be a happy ending. From the beginning, this pregnancy got off to a rough start and unfortunately in July 2018 at only 23 weeks we lost the pregnancy. I had gained 30 lbs in those 23 weeks and was back at 300 lbs with no baby to show for it. I felt depressed and alone.
I had been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was terrified of it not going away. I was determined to lose the weight and get healthy for my family’s sake. I had two daughters that needed me and I couldn’t let myself fall deeper into depression or continue to gain weight.
I found Jasmine and started following her and some other Meal Plan Babes™ on IG and felt motivated to make a change. I decided to purchase the 21 Day Meal Plan™ in August but was still hesitant to start the plan. October 3, 2018, I bit the bullet and started my meal plan journey at 289.4 lbs. 5 months later, I am down 43 lbs and the happiest I have ever been in my life!
