When I first started working out, I was 230 pounds so doing a plank or anything where I was on my hands was extremely painful. I tried different gloves, yoga mats etc. I was so new to all of this so I was constantly experimenting with new products and discovering new fun things along the way. Here are the list of my current top fav products and their purpose!
Yoga Mat. It is soooooo important to have a good one of these! I started with my first yoga mat from Ross. I bought one every month because they kept ripping and shredding up. It was super weird. But apparently they wear out fast when they’re cheap. Someone told me about this brand and how they had a lifetime guarantee. So I got this one for my birthday last year in November and 7 months later it’s still in perfect condition. Worth the money!
Workout Shoes. When I first started working out, I was doing Insanity Max 30 which was very high impact. I had a hard time with my feet hurting from all of the jumping. I spent some time researching “best workout shoes for Insanity” and then Shaun T recommended on one of his blogs Rebok Crossfit training shoes so that’s what I went with. I’ve had the same pair for over a year now and they are AMAZING and still in perfect condition. Definitely recommend! When I am doing lower impact workouts, I definitely prefer barefoot, though! 🙂
Workout Pants. To “hold everything in”. For me, the best ones are the ones with the bands at the top, they stay up! When I was at my highest weight, the pants I wore were VITAL to getting a good workout in. I had a LOT of excess fat and it was very painful to do any sort of jumping.
Sports Bras. Sooooo important! The pain from the “bouncing” guys… not fun. I got this set from my sister in law and they are some of my favorite! My first favorite is Victorias Secret VSX Sports Bras! They’re only $15 too which makes it much better (since they’re still VS)
Cute Workout Outfits. This is pretty self explanatory. I mean after all, what’s a better reward after a week of perfect workouts than an adorable workout outift!?
LET US TALK ABOUT PREWORKOUT FOR A SECOND HERE. Okay, so I never heard about preworkout a day in my life prior to last year. To me, it meant what you did before a workout lol. Then on Instagram, I started seeing a lot of posts from the people I was following about taking it before their workout every day and they were consistent about it. Never skipped a day. They were also consistent about their workouts. I needed that. I wanted the liquid motivation they were talking about! So I got my first jar of it. I ordered one from Amazon. The second I tried it, I FREAKED out. The *Beta Alanine TINGLES ARE REAL. I didn’t know to expect this so I thought I was having an allergic reaction to it. I looked on the Amazon reviews, and every person said they experienced it and it was normal and would go away once you started your workout. So I started my workout out and once my heart rate went up, the tingles stopped. The reviews also said that over time, you wouldn’t notice it again. This is true for me, it took about a month and it didn’t happen much anymore. If it did, I didn’t really notice it. I owe 90% of my dedication and motivation to preworkout, seriously. This is my FAV water bottle. It’s 72oz, from Walmart and only $3.31! I drink out of it with the lid off and it allows me to drink so much more water at a time. I’ve gone through hundreds of bottles and so far this is definitely the best for me.
