What Vitamins should I take Daily?

Written by: Tiffany Elizabeth - May 17, 2022

Here are the supplements and vitamins I am currently using in my clean keto and fasting journey 👇 (discount codes at the bottom).

1. Preworkout AKA Motivation

I have replaced my morning coffee with this motivation formula. It gives me the energy and mood boost I need to have an amazing, productive, happy day. Coffee was my morning routine for the longest time but ultimately the motivation is what makes me feel the best. Coffee is for lazy cozy mornings, preworkout is for when I have a lot to get done. No jitters or crash. My personal favorite flavor is sour blue candy.

2. Electrolytes

Electrolytes are one of the most important if not THE most important supplement to take while on a low carb diet. The reason is when you lower carbohydrates, you lower your insulin levels. Insulin is also known to hold onto sodium. So when you lower insulin, you lower sodium and potassium. The symptoms can manifest in the keto flu which is known to cause headaches, nausea, muscle cramps and trouble sleeping. This can be simply avoided by replacing the lost electrolytes through supplementation.

3. Nutritional Yeast for B vitamins

B Vitamins are essential in energy production however, most B vitamins available are synthetic. Nutritional Yeast is a natural source of b vitamins with trace minerals and amino acids. Added B12 (non synthetic added). It is also a complete protein.

May prevent the keto flu, keto rash, keto fatigue and support keto adaptation (getting your body into ketosis). Helps you feel more calm and relaxed. Helps prevent nightmares.

B Deficiencies look like:

B1 Nightmares

B1 Trouble Sleeping

B1 Stressed/Nervous/Anxious

B1 Can't concentrate/Forgetful

B3 (cracked heels)

B2 (cracked lips, dandruff, dermatitis)

B12 Blurred vision, high pulse rate, nerve damage

4. Vitamin D3 and K2

Vitamin D3 is extremely important in any diet. Before being diagnosed with Insulin Resistance, I had very low levels of vitamin D. When you are IR, you will show low vitamin D.

The first sign of Vitamin D deficiency is:

Low back pain

Some other symptoms are:

Bone problems (calcium needs vitamin D)

Low energy

Inflammation

Depression

Brain degeneration (alzheimers)

Muscle aches and weakness

Poor endurance

Poor muscle repair/Muscle atrophy

Insulin Resistance (low levels of vitamin D are associated with IR)

Gestational diabetes

Pre-eclampsia

Poor wound healing

Poor immune system (sick often)

Auto Immune Disorders (psoriasis, MS, Lupus, Crohns, etc)

5. Cod Liver Oil

Vitamin A, Vitamin D, DHA and EPA. Will not go rancid since it's in powdered form. There is also Bile Salts added to help you absorb it better. Good for the immune system and getting in your Omega 3 fatty acids. This is essential for brain health as well.

6. Sea Kelp for Iodine

Supports a healthy thyroid gland. Sea Kelp from Iceland (certified organic). Iodine is the foundation of thyroid hormones. Blue Green Algae with potent phytonutrients and antioxidants. Red Algae with folate, zinc, B12 and essential fatty acids. Helps with too much estrogen. Supports the immune system, liver and kidneys. You would not want to take this if you have HYPER thyroid (Graves Disease).

7. Cortisol and Adrenal Support

Supports healthy cortisol levels to help you feel calmer and have a higher tolerance to stress. Vitamins and minerals to support adrenal glands.

Trace minerals, b vitamins, ashwaganda (helps you adapt to stress), vitamin C, potassium, zinc (to help control cortisol).
