✨ The Best Sugar-Free Hot Cocoa You’ll Ever Make (Topped With Sugar-Free Marshmallows)
Why This Hot Cocoa Is EVERYTHING

I have tried every sugar-free cocoa out there — store-bought mixes, Pinterest hacks, TikTok recipes… nothing ever tasted like the real thing.
Until this.
This recipe is:
-
Perfectly sweet without being bitter
-
Warm, creamy, and chocolaty even though it’s made with hot water
-
Totally sugar-free
-
SO easy — you can make it in 60 seconds
-
And the combo with the sugar-free marshmallows? Unreal. Like a cozy winter dessert with none of the crash.
It tastes like the holidays, self-care, and nostalgia in a mug.
☕ Sugar-Free Hot Cocoa (Single-Serve Recipe)
Ingredients
-
4 packets calorie-free stevia. I use the ones from Publix brand as I think they taste the best but any stevia packets will work from any grocery store. You can also use less than 4. Start out with 2 and increase from there. I like mine very sweet so it tastes like the real thing.
-
1 Tbsp organic Dutch-process cocoa powder. I used this one here. It's DELISH!
-
2 Tbsp nonfat milk powder. I found mine at sprouts. You can also get it from Amazon at this link.
-
Tiny dash of salt
-
8–10 oz hot water
Instructions
-
Add cocoa powder, nonfat milk powder, stevia packets, and a tiny dash of salt to your mug.
-
Pour in a splash of hot water and whisk until it becomes a smooth chocolate paste.
-
Add the rest of the hot water and whisk until creamy and fully dissolved.
-
Top with your sugar-free marshmallows (highly recommended).
-
Sip and fall in love.
💡 Tiffany Tips for the BEST Taste
-
Bloom your cocoa — this step matters! Mixing the dry ingredients with a little hot water first makes it extra smooth and chocolatey.
-
The dash of salt is non-negotiable. It pulls the chocolate flavor forward and removes any stevia sharpness.
-
Use Dutch-process cocoa for that deep, rich flavor (regular cocoa works, but Dutch process is elite).
-
If you like it sweeter: add half a packet more stevia.
-
If you like it creamier: add 1 extra tablespoon of powdered milk.
